We’re excited to share our first monthly update about the proposed merger of Conexus, Cornerstone, and Synergy Credit Unions. This merger is an opportunity to create something extraordinary – a credit union built to grow with you, evolve with our communities, and ensure long-term sustainability for generations to come.
Where We Are Today
On November 20, 2024, we announced our intent to explore this merger. Since then, we’ve taken meaningful steps forward:
- Member and Employee Surveys: Your input is vital. Member and employee surveys are being completed in January as another opportunity to share your voice.
- Due Diligence: We are in the due diligence phase, which gathers critical information required to inform the business case that validates the expected benefits of the merger. If the business case is approved by each credit union board, the Boards will recommend the merger to you, our valued members, for the final decision through a member vote.
- Launched the Thriving Together Microsite: Visit www.thrivingtogethersk.ca for updates, FAQs, and a form to instantly share your questions and feedback.
What This Means for You, Our Members
For now, it’s business as usual. We remain three independent credit unions as we explore this possible merger. We are committed to being transparent and keeping you informed through regular updates via email, branch communications, social media channels and our microsite.
What’s Next
Please participate in our member survey! We want to hear from you!
Starting January 21, members will receive a survey from Sentis Research to gather your perspectives on this proposed merger. To ensure everyone has a chance to participate, a QR code and link will also be shared in-branch and online. The email will come from one of these three addresses:
- Conexus & Sentis Research (conexus@sentis.ca)
- Cornerstone & Sentis Research (cornerstone@sentis.ca)
- Synergy & Sentis Research (synergy@sentis.ca)
Please remember to check your spam and junk folders and don’t miss this opportunity to share your voice! Your responses are confidential and anonymous, and your insights are invaluable. Whether you’ve got a lot to say or a little, we want your feedback!
Due diligence continues.
The due diligence phase and development of a business case to present to members will continue.
